Résumé : Cet article est une analyse des poèmes lyriques A Harvest of our Dreams avec Elegy for the Revolution de Anyidoho. Ils explorent l’avènement de l’indépendance du Ghana sous le règne du premier régime civil et celui des homes en uniformes. Ces poèmes sont une démonstration succincte de la problématique de gestion du Ghana à travers les dirigeants civils incarnés par Kwame Nkrumah et l’irruption des militaires dans la politique étatique. La sociocritique est la théorie littéraire convoquée pour mettre en exergue l’impact de la gestion des nouveaux intellectuels africains sur leurs contemporains et les circonstances qui ont
emmenés les militaires à faire un coup d’État pour destituer les civils. Cette réflexion révèle le dilemme dont les Ghanéens sont confrontés dans le choix de leurs dirigeants et montre aussi la vague de prise de conscience émanant du peuple.
Abstract : This article is an analysis of Anyidoho’s lyrical poems A Harvest of our Dreams with Elegy for the Revolution. It investigates the advent of Ghana’s independence under the reign of the first civilian regime and that of men in kaki. The poems reveal the problematic political and social management of post-independence African countries, on behalf of the case in Ghana under Kwame Nkrumah and the irruption of militaries in the political sphere. Grounding on the framework of Sociocriticism the current analysis attempts to highlight the
impacts of the new African intellectuals on their countries and some of the outcomes, among which the inevitable military coups. This reflection reveals the dilemma Ghanaians face in the choice of their rulers and shows up the wave of consciousness coming from the people.
